Many instructions about the laws of Nature are needed, in order to understand the entire beauty of the law of attraction which lies at the foundation of Hierarchy. FW2 84.

The Ray of intelligent love. This is the ray which embodies the highest vibration of  which our solar Logos or Deity is capable in this present solar system. It is not yet vibrating adequately nor has it yet attained the peak of its activity. It is the basis of the cyclic spiral movement of the body logoic, and just as the Law of Economy is the law governing the internal fires of the system so the cosmic Law of Attraction and Repulsion is the basic law of this divine Ray. TCF 40.

In the widest sense of the idea the Laws of Economy and of Synthesis are only divisions of that same cosmic law of which Attraction and Repulsion are also manifestations. This cosmic law, demonstrating thus in a threefold manner, might (for lack of a better term) be called the Law of Being, and is of a nature so incomprehensible to the finite mind of man that he can only sense it partially through the aforesaid three branches.  TCF 332.

Some perform the work of the Destroyer of forms, and others carry on the work of cohering and of attracting; the work of the Destroyer and of the Preserver is carried on under the Law of Attraction and Repulsion. TCF 79.

The basis of attraction lies in the spatial current of identity.  The one transmitting the current arouses an identical current, and the vibration of the Cosmic Magnet responds to the propelled energy. FW1 285.

Attraction and repulsion are therefore conditioning factors in our solar life, and this conditioning reaches us through Gemini. It is the effect of a cosmic energy at present unknown to humanity. EA 352.

The principle of attraction is based upon the Cosmic Magnet.  The cohesion of parts and their separation are subject to the very same law of attraction and to the principle of cosmic magnetism. Inf1 124.

It is magnetism, radiation, attraction and repulsion. TCF 436.

In the widest sense of the idea the Laws of Economy and of Synthesis are only divisions of that same cosmic law of which Attraction and Repulsion are also manifestations. TCF 332.

The inner working of the law of gravitation (or attraction and repulsion.) LOM 262.

Does not the law of attraction move the striving particles. Is not the law of gravitation put in effect by the Highest Reason? When people speak about harmonization they penetrate very little into the essence of the law itself. Cosmic creativeness contains in itself the substance of the great Materia Matrix. Attraction is a property established for the expansion of Cosmos.

Therefore, this law acts upon all planes, in spirit and in matter. The foundation of construction is established upon the manifestation of the better possibilities, and the creativity of spirit proceeds under the same mighty law. Inf2 130.

The general law, which produces cyclic effect, is the Law of Attraction and Repulsion, of which the subsidiary law is the Law of Periodicity, and of Rebirth. TCF 275.

The karmic conditions are being built upon the principle of attraction; and when the creativeness of life is understood but little the karmic attraction assumes very ordinary dimensions. Hence, when the progress of a spirit is in step with the Cosmic Magnet, the Cosmic Magnet leads the affirmed spirit to its foundation. Thus, the spiritual tie attracts the spirits closest to each other. This law is immutable. Inf2 132.

Primarily, nevertheless, it may be posited that the Law of Attraction is the demonstration of the powers of Spirit, whilst the Law of Repulsion governs the form. Spirit attracts Spirit throughout the greater cycle. In lesser cycles, Spirit temporarily attracts matter. The tendency of Spirit is to merge and blend with Spirit. Form repulses form, and thus brings about separation.

But - during the great cycle of evolution - when the third factor of Mind comes in, and when the point of balance is the goal, the cyclic display of the interaction between Spirit and form is seen, and the result is the ordered cycles of the planets, of a human being, and of an atom. Thus, through repetition, is consciousness developed, and responsive faculty induced. When this faculty is of such a nature that it is an inherent part of the Entity's working capital, it has to be exercised on every plane, and again cyclic action is the law, and hence rebirth again and again is the method of exercise. TCF 276.

So strong is the guiding principle of the Magnet that the forces which do not respond to the law of attraction are yet subservient to it. Inf1 183.

It involves a realization of the Laws of Attraction and Repulsion, of the magnetic interplay between all forms, great and small, of group relationships, of the galvanizing power of the unifying life, and the attractive power of one unit upon another, be it atom, man, or solar system. TCF 881.

The very essence of the Cosmic Magnet is potentially so multiform that every principle enters into each of its manifested chains.  All principles are based on attraction and are impelled by the power of the Cosmic Magnet. Inf1 128.

This cosmic law, demonstrating thus in a threefold manner, might (for lack of a better term) be called the Law of Being. TCF 332.

Cosmos is maintained upon interrelations. The force of attraction is an acting power as well as the power of cohesion. Upon the basis of the manifestation of attraction alone does the great law verily prevail. As material bodies act through the forces of attraction, so the entire spiritual world exists by the same law. Inf2 27.

The appearance of forms with their unique coloring, qualities and activities, the syntheses and fusions, the urges, instincts and aspirations, the manifested loves and hates (as expressions of the great law of attraction and repulsion), the producing of civilizations, of the sciences and arts in all their wonder and beauty, - all this is but the expression of the will-to-be of certain Beings or Lives. EP2 28.

The great affirmation imbues the entire space, and it is contained in the principle of attraction. All the laws are confirmed through fiery attraction, and all cosmic principles are imbued with the unity of Fire. Full coordination effects full harmony, and the attraction between particles belonging to one seed is powerfully imbued by the law of blending. Inf2 510.

Cosmic magnetism collects all the highest aspects of cosmic attraction.  The spirit responding to the attraction in like measure will be that part of the Cosmic Reason. Inf1 129.

The cosmic force moves in a spiral. With basic might, the Magnet propels forward in the spiral of the creative potential of energy. The circular motion is highly strained during attraction to the generative source. Inf1 205.

Psychic energy is also called "a magnet," and in such a definition there is much truth. Of course, the law of attraction and repulsion reacts especially upon psychic energy. Without the cooperation of the energy it is impossible to observe positive and negative properties. Therefore, a reminder about the magnet will be extremely goal-fitting when one wishes to emphasize the attraction of psychic energy. AUM 474.

In fitting the affirmation of cosmic law to the state and social order one should keep in mind the law of attraction, repulsion and cohesion. All structures are subject to this same law. And people should be graded according to the composition of their auras. The ray which unifies the manifestation of harmonious auras acquires the strength of augmented attraction, but inharmonious combinations produce repulsion. The results of such combinations can be compared with gases. Just as non-cohesive molecules press against the walls of a vessel, so are inharmonious auras mutually repelled, and the vessel which contains such gases may burst. FW3 66.

Attraction multiplies force. AY 319.

The magnet of the heart consists of the accumulations of thousands of years; in it is expressed Karma and attraction. FW3 372.

The attraction of the magnet of the heart acts powerfully at a distance. FW3 375.

The very realization of the magnet increases the attraction, focusing it upon intensification of currents. Inf1 intro.

Wherever the attraction weakens, severance results. Inf1 120.

When the energy of the heart swells with love and devotion the radiant spiral will leap out into space and, naturally, by the law of attraction will meet the Teacher's ray. Heart 250.

The second law is the Law of Attraction and Repulsion. Fundamentally, the law describes the compelling force of attraction that holds our solar system to the Sirian; that holds our planets revolving around our central unit, the sun; that holds the lesser systems of atomic and molecular matter circulating around a center in the planet; and that holds the matter of all physical plane bodies, and that of the subtle bodies coordinated around their microcosmic center. TCF 568.

All luminaries depend upon an attraction which is reciprocal. Understand that everything is held together by the Magnet of Cosmos! Inf1 130.

The higher the sphere, the greater the power of attraction.  Thus one can realize the power of Cosmic Reason.  The power increases according to the spheres. Inf1 132.

The realization of equilibrium alone must direct humanity to the understanding of the great Cosmic Law. Only the union of Great Higher Forces can produce equilibrium. For we know how the attraction of the Luminaries acts: their energies are reciprocally compressed. FW3 64.

Intelligent activity. All atoms show ability to select, to discriminate intelligently under the Law of Attraction and Repulsion. - S. D., I, 295.

All molecules move in conformity with the attraction; all spatial fires move in conformity with the attraction.  It is the cosmic seed which attracts all atoms to itself.  In truth, each atom is a seed, but there are cosmic seeds.  Thus, each luminary attracts energies into its vortical rings and permeates them with its rays.  Hence, the Spatial fire is not uniform but of varying tensions and properties. In rotation, the luminaries attract and enfold the energies in their orbits. Inf1 328.

Our co-workers, in action, are distinguished from others by their flexibility and striving, and by their open-mindedness. The cosmic life is built on attraction and repulsion, in other words, on rhythmic explosions and accumulations. The activity of Our co-workers is not free from the laws of nature. It can be observed how activity builds the consciousness, and there should be no fear of destruction by its explosions. One thing is unknown to Us — rest in inaction. AY 311.

In Cosmos the center of striving rests upon the principle of Hierarchy. Cosmos acts by means of attraction to the manifested powerful center. Thus the cosmic seed is manifested in each action of Hierarchy by the quality of the striving, which ascends through realization of the predominant principle. AY 667.

Some people are called bearers of happiness, some of unhappiness. Many examples and much evidence can be found. Let us assume that something like this exists, and let us look at it from a psycho-physical point of view. In addition to karmic effects, there is something that attracts or repels happiness. By a series of physical experiments, one can demonstrate that certain combinations of elements will determine the degrees of attraction and repulsion.

The stronger the presence of the basic energy in people, the more positive will be their effect. If this main element is fire, then the other needed elements will be drawn like moths toward the light. This means that even success can be revealed and measured in physical terms, and it is useful to know one's own essence. AY 485.

Remember the laws of gravitation and repulsion, action and counteraction. Steadfastness results from attraction, and tension from repulsion. Attraction along the line of Hierarchy leads to Me, and repulsion from the enemy to glorification. Thus, the Teacher and the enemy are cornerstones. AY 656.

Idiosyncrasies are inexplicable attractions or repulsions, and they appear as trustworthy evidences of reincarnation. No one can explain otherwise these irresistible feelings. It is vain to try to show them to be the effects of atavism, because it is possible to trace their independence of ancestral habits. The special force of such attraction shows that they are deeply implanted in a given individual. They are so firmly fixed in the consciousness that even hypnosis cannot overcome them.

But if in individual cases the changes of lives were to be examined, then the attraction or repulsion would be found to be a natural effect of what has gone before. Thus, it is especially instructive to observe such inborn symptoms. They reveal both the capacities of the man and the kind of surroundings that are most favorable for him. Let us not forget that each plant needs its own soil; so, too, in the life of man, indispensable are the circumstances which are natural and peculiar to him. Let those who rule learn how to arrange the human garden. Bro 163.

Lacking the correct coordination of attraction and repulsion, insignificant thoughts form, as it were, ugly conglomerates and pollute space. We call them spatial slime. Much energy is wasted in transmuting these stillborn monsters. One can imagine how greatly spatial production could be increased were it not for these progenies of men. FW1 549.

One may wonder at times why and how people can meet again after many incarnations. There are many reasons for this, but the principal one is the Cosmic Magnet. One may notice that people are attracted precisely through a sense of karma; nothing can hold back the debtor. But earthly concepts make it difficult to coordinate Infinity with the manifestation of karma. How great must be the attraction in order to hold such divergent energies in conformity! Moreover, one side will always try to escape, but the law will lead it to the immutable realization of inevitability. In this one can observe a psychic attraction that only proves the oneness of the basic law. FW1 640.

A cosmic vortex, which propels energies through powerful agitations, may be compared with a strong magnet the power of which creates through various actions. Energies which are gathered by a saturated vortex are distributed according to the poles of attraction. The width of application of this law of attraction to the various assignments of man in all the Worlds is immeasurable. Just as man is attracted to certain kindred on the Earth, in the spiritual World he is attracted by a vortex created by his own actions.

It is difficult to free oneself from a Cosmic vortex, therefore it is needful to direct the human consciousness to the inexorable laws. Mastery of Karma and of the laws of life requires true understanding of the Cosmic Vortex. Space consists of these vibrations, eternally moving in the spiral of the vortex. FW3 151.

Each vital attraction or repulsion creates its own spiral. FW3 283.

The attraction of all conformities takes place when all fiery currents are aflame. It is necessary to accept the law of counteraction as a stimulus of creativeness; the stimulus which intensifies each construction. Attraction of spirit is developed precisely by the fiery tension of all forces. In fact, each inscription in space can enter into life as magnetic opposition to the forces of darkness. FW3 212.

Spatial fires are subject to the law of attraction of the Heart of the World. Subtle is the world of manifested attractions, and each wave of attraction assembles new combinations from the energies propelled toward union. Therefore the Heart of the World creates quick conjunctions. There are so many fiery attractions in the Cosmos! FW3 281.

Therefore we have (during a period of Attraction and Repulsion, or a life cycle) that which we call Time and Space, and this holds equally true in the life cycle of a Logos or an ant, or a crystal. There are cycles of activity in matter, due to some energizing Will, and then Time and space are known. There are cycles of non-being when Time and Space are not, and the energizing Will is withdrawn. But we must not forget that this is purely relative, and only to be considered from the standpoint of the particular life or entity involved, and the special stage of awareness reached. All must be interpreted in terms of consciousness.

The first type of cycle, or the period involved in one entire revolution of a sphere around its own center of consciousness, is to the particular Entity involved (be he God or man) a lesser cycle. The second type of cycle or the period involved in the complete circling of an orbit, or the revolution of a sphere around the center of which it is an integral part, we can consider as a greater cycle. The third type of cycle has not so much to do with the transition of the form through a certain location in space but as the cycle which includes both the greater and the lesser cycles. It has to do with the response of the ENTITY, to Whom our solar Logos is but a center in His Body, to the contacts made on that center and on its cosmic opposite. These two centers, for instance, our solar system and its cosmic opposite, in their interaction create a cycle period which has a relation to the "ONE WHO IS ABOVE OUR LOGOS." This is, of course; beyond human conception, but must be included in our enumeration of cycles if exactitude is to be achieved. TCF 284.

THE LAW OF BALANCE

LESSON 9

It is a source of pain to me at times to be compelled to witness your impatience at the ignorance of  your  brothers  and  sisters  who have not as yet had equal opportunities for accumulating knowledge ; as well as your unwillingness, often, to convey information to them : There are among your number those who are intellectually incapable of  grasping  intricate  problems  or  technical  terms  of  expression,  but who may be far above you in true spiritual progress. Such, through . their  inability  to  correlate  those  lines  of  thought  which  lead eventually ;  to  the  understanding  of  fundamental  laws  of  life  and  its phenomena,  or  to  grasp  such  natural  illustrations  as  lie  all  around them,  without :  help,  would  sincerely  appreciate  any  effort  toward their enlightenment. You cannot give a casual glance around any field of  nature  without  resting  your  eyes  upon  hundreds  of  objects  which furnish perfect similes for the illustration of any phase of natural law. The fields of motion and of vibration seem the most obscure, and are difficult  of  exploration  to  many  of  our  otherwise  well  advanced students,  who  are  just  entering  upon  the  study  of  universal  (that  is, natural) phenomena, from the occultist's point of view ; and, in giving you the following simple illustration, I am but doing what any one of the  older  students  is  quite  competent  to  undertake,  if  willing  to  turn his attention to the needs of his younger brothers.

You have all observed the motion of a perfectly balanced plank, with a person standing upon the middle, having a foot on either side of the  balancing  point,  while  imparting  an  equal  amount  of  force alternately  with  each  foot.  The  longer  the  board,  the  more  time  is required to lift each end to the highest point it can reach. Each of the ends  would  be  negative  to  the  positive  center  of  balance  when horizontally  at  rest ;  but  each  end  would manifest  both  positive  and negative  aspects  when  in motion,  according  to  its  ascent  or  descent. The entire board would have a certain mode of motion imparted to it by the person representing the generating force, but it would also have its  own  peculiar  mass motion-that  is,  the motion  of  its  own  interior mass ; and each molecule of the board would have its own particular vibration  entirely  independent  of  every  other  molecule. 

The  board would be in one sense dead ; that is, its power of growth would be cut off, but its molecules  would  be  alive.  Now  imagine  that  the  board continues in that position, constantly generating force for an indefinite length of time, and that you can see the inner forces that sustain and keep intact [TT 23] the molecules of the board ; you would perceive the molecules contracting and their vibrations rapidly increasing, each drawing into its own centre all the living forces that make it a separate molecule,  while  its  sheaths-its  physical  forms-would  disintegrate gradually,  leaving  nothing  to  be  seen  by  even  the  most  powerful microscope.  If  your  vision  could  reach  to  a  still  higher  plane,  you would  see  that  all  of  the  individual  centres  of  the  various molecules had  become  part  of  one  substance  of  a  finer  grade,  for  they  would have  reached  the  plane  of  the  atom,  which  is  the  plane  of  the indivisible.

Space is the result of expansion. Time is the result of the action of the laws of attraction and repulsion-motion per se-and must be taken into account in this illustration.

During  this  hypothetical  time  (say  of  one  thousand  years),  the process  of  disintegration  in  the  body  of  the  person  standing  on  the board would be gradually consummated, the board would decrease in weight  and  would  disintegrate;  and, finally,  while  the  board might retain a semblance of form, there would come a time when its motion would become so rapid as to render the board indistinguishable from the person, or generator of the force ; the person and the board would seem as one object ; and, if it were possible to increase the motion still more, they would disappear from sight altogether, and only be visible on an inner plane.

In  more  than  one  sense  this  illustration  is  a  correct correspondence of this age ; of its creative powers, and of motion and vibration in whole and in part.

As one end of the board requires an appreciable length of time to fall, and to receive an impulse from the earth which it contacts, thus enabling  it  to  rise  again,  so  every  age  or  cycle  requires  a corresponding  time,  and  must  receive  an  upward  impulse  from  the negative force of the preceding cycle. While its matter, its humanity, and all its forces are at or near this negative point, all partake of the dark side of life, and can only give the impulse to rise again by united endeavor. The key-note of motion and vibration is raised while on the upward  sweep  of  the  cycle,  with  every  succeeding  age.  The  law  of correspondences holds good throughout the universe, and on all planes of Being.

The fact of the Group Soul is widely contradicted by those not yet able  to  understand  that  all  life  is  a  series  of  groupings.  From  the animalcule  to  the  man,  each  organism,  each  individual  organ,  is  a group  of  a  distinct  grade  in  the  universal  scale  of  living  substance, subject to and brought into form by its peculiar rate of vibration. For instance,  that  which  is  now,  or  has  been,  the  heart  in  every  animal form in manifestation, was composed primarily of one form of energy, which, [TT 24] by the laws of chemical affinity united with another or higher  form  of  energy,  to  produce  or  evolve  a  third  form  of  energy which  may  be  termed  the  universal  heart.  This  form  lies  latent  in every  molecule  of  physical  substance ;  and,  as  each  molecule  of matter is combine ; with another and still another, this sometime latent energy awakens and is also combined with another form of the same energy, and event eventually manifests as the physical heart of some low form of life. When the matter composing this lower form of heart has been cast off, the energy remains on the astral plane awaiting its next manifestation in higher form.

Every  organic  centre  is  a  god  in  embryo,  a  dual  manifestation From a nucleolus to a god, one feminine cell must be impregnated by a masculine  cell  in  order  to manifest  on  any  of  the  lower  planes,  although the process of impregnation differs in nearly all planes of life.  TT.
